Hello, Sarah, excellent game! Possible bug and/or me just being stupid (probably the latter). I've just come to the glade to mix the potion to help the blacksmith, but I can't figure out how. It won't let me do anything with the old pot, whether I'm standing adjacent to the tree stump or not. If I click on the spell, it just gives an error sound. If I select it in the Grimoire, I can see the spell, but it won't let me do anything with it. It seems I should be using the pot first, but it doesn't seem to let me. Sorry if this is a repeated question, but I didn't want to read too many other questions for fear of spoilers.

Thanks!

Try standing to the right of the tree stump and then clicking when facing it.

(+1)

Oh, hey, I just downloaded the manual and saw that I needed to stand to the right of it. I hurried back to my post to try and delete it so as not to trouble you, but I was too late! Great game though! I'm having a blast and I'm loving the attention to detail here. How many hours would you say went into it?

(+2)

Took about 2 and a half years to make. It went through many changes, and I had to develop all my own tools too. That's why I'm confident a sequel won't take anywhere near as long.

Bug / crash

Sometimes, after talking to Clarissa (then when the door to the house closes automatically, I think when Briley automatically takes one step back after a conversation.), Briley and the cat disappear from the screen.
You can only enter the game menu.

Saving at this point, then load crashes game.

Difficult to recreate every few tries.

Vice Emulator.
while playing ultimate2+ I did not observe such a thing

(1 edit)

To be precise. This is not a complete crash, after load you can enter the options menu. The music can still be heard

(+1)

I have finished the game. I am very impressed with the amount of work involved in making this game.
It's really amazing.

The place where these foxes are is kinda weird.

(2 edits)

Looks like 3 foxes are standing on top of the wall

I completed this game last night. It's fantastic! The story keeps you wondering what will happen next.  The graphics are A+ for the Commodore 64. Really enjoyed the music and sound effects. The "Remind" command is super helpful to keep progression going, especially after a break. I played my first JRPGs on the NES, despite owning a Commodore 64. JRPGs just were not and still aren't common on the 64. Remembering a lot of experiences with the NES, they had far less animation and of course the sound never matched the 64s SID tunes in Briley Witch.  It's truly a work of art for the C64 and definitely a game you should try if you're a fan of the genre.

(+3)

I'm still playing but I agree with you, the game is awesome. A masterpiece, the sound is great and the graphic absolutely amazing (the Smokey's sprites are simply wonderful :-) and the care for the details is remarkable.
I only wish have the chance to stop the music sometimes (keeping  just the FX) because it splints in my mind and I keep whistling it the whole day LOL.
As I told, it's unbelievable what Sarah can get out of a C64 (not only Briley... I'm talking about Zeta Wing and Neutron too). I hope she will release a sequel (or another adventure) soon. Come on, Sarah! Keep programming! :-)

(+7)

Started working on the sequel...

(+2)

THAT'S THE NEWS WE WISH TO HEAR!!!!! :-)
THANK YOU SARAH!!!!

(+2)

Great news!

I'm stuck in this place, what do i need to do now and where to go?

SPOILER ALERT!

Remind:
(Briley) I'm sorry, but i have to cast the vision spell again..
(Smokey) Oh,no! Ya not serious, are ya?
(Briley) Er... Yeah...
(Smokey) Oh, wonderful...

-----

Oh dear ..

AGREDZFVA :D

hmm ..

This is the second time the game prevents me from continuing to play. This time I missed  one pcs "Mint Leaves".

I used them to make a few teas.

And there is probably no way to get them.

I solved the problem for me by editing my Save ($ 7e91 amount of mint leaves)

-----

Rethinking after 9  hours of play in normal mode.

It's not as cool as after many hours of gameplay we will accidentally run out of some key item (which seemed to be an ordinary item at all times) and have to start all over again.
jrpg are not like that.
There is always a way out of such a situation, sometimes tedious, But there is.
The game seems to focus on avoiding fights and using items sparingly. To avoid a situation where there is no way out (no MP -hackfixed by v1.03, or no key item)
I'm going to finish the whole game, but I already know that I will often edit the save file.

(+1)

well... I understand what you mean, I had the same feeling too, sometimes...  BUT....

remember, Sarah wrote this thing alone and it run on the C=64, so she had to face with some limits:

1) lack of beta testers (I guess); she's trying to do her best to solve some little problems we can find along the way. If you're a programmer (I mean: professional programmer) you know that you can check everything you can think about for days; but when you release your work, your customers will hit in many and many bugs after just few hours (or minutes). It seems to me the game is quite good, almost without bugs. She did a great work (and a lot of test).

2) she must to pack everything inside an 8 bit, 1983 computer...

3) it's terrible hard to write the rules, get a good rhythm, make everything working and  still have a playable and enjoyable RPG game. There are some many rules, some many details....

4) maybe it's her first RPG game, must to admit she did an awesome work, all alone. Maybe the sequel will fix some little problems like that, keeping the game more enjoyable.

I will try to play all the game without cheating (must to be said I'm playing in easy mode... no stress, I'm growing old LOL).

Now I know that I must to be careful using my resources. Lesson learnt.

I'm loving the game. I'm playing it with VICE, since my Kung Fu didn't arrive yet, so I haven't that feeling of a C64 game... it seems a more advanced game than a C64 game.

I agree in 100%

I am not a professional programmer.

I know a little bit about commodore basic and machine programming.

I am aware of the limitations of this computer.

The mint (and most other herbs) regrow every day, so had you picked EVERY single mint on the map? If not, you could have gone off and gotten some more. But I agree that if the game knows in advance you'll need an item that day, maybe logic check it out and prevent you using it.

(+2)

If you run low on Mint Leaves, the game respawns the ones in the forest. There's a back way into the forest so they're easy to get.

(2 edits)

had you picked EVERY single mint on the map?

Yes, all mint leaves.

maybe if the plants kept returning from time to time.

or better, every certain number of character steps. (possible problem with correct operation of the time clock in c64)

or an NPC item store

or get items in a winning fight

some simple and effective solution.

They do return every day. But as Sarah's comment notes, apparently the forest ones respawn

(+2)

If you run low on Mint Leaves, the game respawns the ones in the forest. There's a back way into the forest so they're easy to get. I did think about players running out of mint, and also made sure water flasks are always available.

I have 3 pcs mint leaves

+1 pcs is needed to cast spell

does the bush appear in the forest in that case?

(+1)

Yes, they will respawn if you have less than 4 left.

(1 edit) (+1)

Forgive me.

My mistake. I didn't try to enter the forest again, my HP and MP were too low. And I didn't want to risk it. :)
I am continuing to play this amazing game

(+3)

Come on people... just save every morning after waking up... if your day goes terribly wrong restore last save.. it's not hard... gather important ingredients every day... I have like 30+ of everything plus minimum 5no hi potions and 5no cat boosts and haven't edited any saves...  run out of mana once early in the game but restored save and everything went great on second attempt..

I just played here like regular jrpg, more fight, and I have now 30000exp

And I should only play like the plot leads and then have 15,000.

Right now I only do the essentials, and have ~ 30pcs miscellaneous items.

Hi Sarah!  :)

I'm playing with V1.0.3

I have used all my magic points and cannot recover any, even when I win a fight and I win some magic points, the counter remains at zero. I am stuck because impossible to sleep, clarissa sends me back each time to continue my adventure: I have to go see the dark damned spirit in the deep forest. Is it normal that Briley's magic counter remains at zero even with 2 magic points gained after a fight?

This game is purely adictive, I can't stop it !!!!

Thanks

(1 edit)

I know where is the deep forest, this is not the question  :)

You haven't read everything carefully :)

Briley Witch Chronicles v1.0.3 Released

  • If player is out of magic when facing 1st dark spirit, give them 2 MP so they can complete the battle.
  • Adjusted vision spell to not need any MP, just in case the player has inadvertently run out of magic.

    ""

I know that.

My question was :

Is it normal when I win a fight and I have a reward of 2 magic points, my counter remains at zero

(1 edit)

aaa..
the reward is not the amount of +MP
but the amount of +MP MAX
+SK MAX for Cat.

The reward is a raising of the maximum value for MP, life, etc. but it doesn't affect the actual value.
You get +2 MP when you face the spirit. It's everything you need.
Make love, not war ;-)

(1 edit) (+2)

Hi Sarah !   Thank you so much for this awesome game !   I would love to continue my adventure but unfortunately I'm not sure if I run into a bug or maybe I'm just dumb.  I'll try to explain my situation the best I can.

Last thing I did was a basket delivery to Lynet. Apparently I have a new spell to test but I can't go further...

If I use Remind I'm told that if I return the melted pot to Calibor, He can make my Amulet ...

This message appear at the end of the remind since the last 2-3 actions I did..  I have a melted Pot and I think I have to go see Calibor so I get another Cauldron to make the new spell but finally I'm not very sure if that's the next thing to do.

The thing is that Calibor wasn't at home in the day... now the night turned and his house still empty...  Is it normal that the house's door to the north of Calibor's house is open but I can't enter it ?

If I want to go sleep I can't, and Clarissa say's "Don't you have a new spell to try" ..

I searched around de map for more than an hour but don't find anything.       Hope you can help me so I can continue my quest...

For Info I was playing on v1.01 and moved to the v1.03 by saving my game on disk ... the situation is the same on both version.

I'm sure I just missed something..

ED:  just to add info, after the delivery I got the short-cut to home from smokey, I got the AgredzFva in the chest and Pillar Candles from Clarissa..

Thanks

Hi! You need to use Briley's cauldron, located just north of the Baxter's  house, and mix the "Agredzfva" potion.

(+1)

oh, thank you very much !  I think I explored every corner but forgot to go there ;-)  I also remember there was a hint about this before but forgot about it.

Thanks again I can continue the adventure.

Have a good day

(2 edits)

I'm wondering how Briley could get some magic power. I've seen she got 100% when she sleeps (at least it seems to me) but I'm looking a way to find the dark forest and that damn'd day never ends, it come the night in the real life while I was playing, but it's still a sunny day in the game LOL and Briley ran out of mana...

Picked up one potion that restores MP. I'm sure you will learn a spell to make said potion too, haven't got that far yet if you can.

https://itch.io/post/4846888

more difficult solution:

Save game to disk.
Copy disk (backup)
Assembler monitor (Action Replay cartridge or something)
Load Save File BW1SAVE[X].DAT to $7e0e-$7fd6
for example:
$7e3c = Briley MP
$7e3d = Cat SK
edit

delete old save file
save $7e0e-$7fd6, with proper file name

Thank you :-) Actually I don't like to cheat, it takes all the pleasure to solve the puzzles playing fair LOL
However I found and defeat the dark spirit (not too hard, especially because I could count only with the 2 MP of the release 1.0.3 so SPOILER ALERT of course there isn't much I could do with so little mana...  I failed the first time (wrong target) but at second try I succeeded).

Sarah, I'm every day more amazed about what you are able to do with a Commodore 64, that's unbelievable, indeed. Congrats!
Please do the sequel and try to finish it asap, I wish I had it ready before to end this chapter :-)

I cannot find the clearing for the mages. Anyone know where I need to go to find it?

(3 edits)

from the Baxter's (Riley's) home: little south, on the river path, then west.

Is that the one with the broken bridge? I cannot pass through the broken bridge. How do I fix it?

No, it's on the same screen as the Baxter house, on the left hand side by the villager.

I couldn't find it. Is it possible you could show me screenshot, please?

Is that the one with a cave blocked by cat statue saying I need to equip special equipment?

(+1)

will this load from an SD2IEC?

No, it's an EasyFlash cartridge image, not a floppy disk.

(+2)

NTSC Kung Fu Flash 1.26 that I just got from tfw8bit works perfectly with this game on my NTSC breadbin

I’ve walked around in the dark for an hour. Where is the forest glade? Ist’s not the Secret Glade. Is it where I keep getting attacked by animals?  That’s just the Forest , I think. #help

(1 edit) (+1)

Out of a curiosity... I saw the .crt file is 648.496 bytes. So this game couldn't be put on a C64 cart back in the '80s, because it would require a huge rom (more than 4Mbit).

So, back in the eighties you should have split it in four or more disks... am I right?  Or am I missing something?

Funny and amazing to realize that a C=64 rely on modern technology to work, LOL

EDIT: I wasn't either ironic or sarcastic. Just a consideration about how much the modern technology can be useful even for old equipment. We couldn't have a cart with Briley back in the days and we had to play a lot with the 1541, "Please put disk # ..." LOL

We could have, actually. The technology developed for the C64GS could handle up to 2MB of data, but no published cart went beyond 512K. Right now, the GMod2 only supports up to 512K but it also has a writable area which is a must for the on-cart saves. Hence why the game currently is Easyflash format only. The still-in-dev GMod3 will be able to handle a lot, lot bigger.

(1 edit)

Do you mean 512k cart were actually produced for C64GS by Commodore?
I knew the C64GS was just a cost reduced C64 with no keyboard, no ports (just joy ports) and no better characteristics compared with the C=64; I didn't know it could handle more data than a C64.
So is there any way to build a Riley cart with the 1980s/1990s technology? Or must it to rely on modern technology?

(btw december 1990 I worked in a computer shop and we had had troubles to sell the two C64GS that Commodore Italy sent us with the other C= stuffs, nobody wanted it, of course, LOL)

(1 edit)

The 4in1 cart bundled with the GS is 512K, also Myth and Last Ninja Remix released by System3 were 512K also. Amazing what the GS console is worth today.

As for a Briley cart, it could just about work with old tech if you cannibalised an old GS 512K cart and replaced the bank switch chip to handle 2MB afaik. You’d have to save to disk though. Only the more recent carts allow you to save back directly to the cart itself.

(+1)

I'm feeling a little dumb, but..
a water flask is something you can find around only, or you can also fill an empty flask someway? 'Cause I ran out of water and I don't know how to get more LOL

You can take empty flasks down to the river to refill them.

(+1)

Thank you! I went to the river but for some reason (read: some mistake of mine) I didn't get the water. Now I got it :-)

(+1)

This is currently my fave C64 game. I absolutely love the story and how it draws you in =) And it plays great on TheC64 (y)
I am stuck at "the mint tea quest". I just need the honey, but have no clue where to search for the stuff. Any hints?

Bee hive near where you fought the rats

Thanks Mayhem. I can't believe I missed that.

(+1)

Really enjoying this so far :)

Spotted one typo in dialogue if you want to shove it into a possible v1.03 release:

Melodie: "until you're to tired to think about causing more trouble!"

should be "too" of course... keep up the good work Sarah :)

(+1)

Is there a way to transfer 1.0 cart avegames to the 1.0.2 release? - oh wait ... I could load cart from 1.0 and save to disk - then load 1.02 and load from disk.

That's the way I'd recommend.

(+1)

Yes, as soon as v1.01 came out I've been saving to disk instead

(1 edit) (+1)

Hey Sarah + community... I'm stuck!! :(

I need to go to the deep forest to confront the dark spirit... but I think I've been all over the map (and visited "the forest" twice)... where should I go? When I speak to Clarissa she says to go to the forest, and REMIND tells me to go to the deep forest/dark spirit etc etc... Is the forest north of the Baxter's and the deep forest one and the same??? aaaaaarghghgh :)   (loving the game p.s.)

(1 edit)

The entrance to the Deep Forest is in the north-east corner of Maepole Forest.

I should say I recommend taking the back entrance into Maepole forest, accessed via the east side of the village.

(2 edits)

Hello.

SPIOLER ALERT!

v1.0.2 from the beginning of the game.
Ultimate2+
I'm in the Deep Forest. After talking to Dark Spirit, the fight begins. Only Briley is on the team.
I will attack -> (defeated) game over,
Defend -> (defeated) game over,
Use item -> (defeated) game over.

Dark Spirit does nothing, immediately "Defeated".
What am I doing wrong?

(+1)

Don’t think using an attack spell here, but a different spell ;)

Thanks for reply.
And what to do when my magic points = 0?

I don't know how to increase them now
.

Be sure to go there fully loaded :) Don't waste energy fighting rats and owls in Maepole Forest.. rather escape those fights...

Definitely. Brave brave Sir Robin ran away heh. But once you get to the "boss battle" you just have to think laterally...

(+1)

What an amazing game - Great ending - can't wait for the sequel ! :) Fantastic Work !

(+1)

Fantastic game, has it all, fantastic atmosphere and music, nice graphics, great playability, not too overcomplexity as a RPG. Great accomplishment, I am totally addicted to it so far!

(+2)

I'm really stuck for hours now.
Is there a place where we can get hints?
I need a location with stones.
Tried everything but nothing seems to work.

If this is for Alyssa, the place you need is above Branwen's house...

yep choose Alyssa, then Magic/spell and choose the spell :)

(+2)

That was the first thing I tried :-D
Apparantly I wasn't standing the exact right spot.

It worked, thanks!

(+1)

Just started, but Briley Witch is really something new and refreshing in the C64 scene. Fantastic and very playable RPG. I like a lot the whole atmosphere and sound, playability is top notch. Really a fantastic accomplishment!

(+1)

I'm loving this game! like someone else said - I'm not usually an RPG person, but it's so cool to see something like this on the C64, and you've made it really easy to follow compared to many I've played.

I am having a progress issue though. I seem to have run out magic power and I'm at a spot where I can't get further without it, and can't  force resting to replenish it. Is there another way to replenish?

I also can't find a place to use the pillar candles to meditate! I'm planning to start over anyway once my EasyFlash 3 arrives and I can play it on real hardware, so I'm mostly curious. I can always just be more careful with it next time! Thank you!

(+1)

Me too... I'm in the same situation. :(
I really hope I don't need to start over.

I'm trying to use a PSX Adapter (which allows PS2 controllers to be used as a Commdore/Atari joystick) with Briley but I can't get past the "choose your level" screen. The game immediately sends me right back to the main screen, as if I hit the "back" button, I also can't use the keyboard when using this adapter. This problem goes away if I use a different joystick, but I really like using a wireless PS2 controller with my C64, and I have no such problems with ZetaWing or Soul Force or Neutron (yes, I'm a fan). Could this be an issue with Briley having two-button joystick compatibility? Help!

I made a ps2 style joystick out of a broken ps2 controller (I only had the printed circuit with the two mini-joysticks) and a wii empty shell.
It plugs directly to the C= joystick port (no adapter). Since the PS2 joy is analog (two potentiometers) I used a couple of diodes to keep the axes separated.
Yes, I know, it's ugly. It's awful. I'm the worst 3D designer in the world (as you can see from the 3D printed monitor too) and I had no patience to make a nicer job, actually LOL.
But it works fine, at least with ZetaWing and Neutron. Will test with Briley as soon as I will receive the Kung Fu Flash cart.

(1 edit) (+1)

one in a million, minor thing...and probably something to do with the way cutscenes are made,,

I created Remove Curse potion (which seems to turn cauldron white for much longer than Health Potion) only couple of minutes before Lindara showed up to trap Briley in pentacle thingie. When cutscene with Lindara starts... white cauldron turns immediately black and after Briley is freed and returns to same spot, cauldron turns back white and only cools down next morning...

Basically one in a million chance that cauldron will be white when that cutscene kicks in... so nothing to fix here really...

Now back to playing... :)

Heh. I had just made a RC potion right before that scene, too.

(+1)

I just played a little bit yet but I I'm amazed  and delighted by this game, it's unbelievable what Sarah can get from a C=64, the game is absolutely enjoyable and a magnificent masterpiece.

I only would have a chance to silent the music sometimes.

Also, I'm wondering how to build a real cartridge with an eprom. Any hint about schematics and pcb layout?

(+1)

A masterpiece! I'm enjoying it. Every C64 lover should buy it, great pixel art, jrpg gameplay, good story and the C64 feeling of course.

(+1)

Crash bug when you take the strength potion - it happened with me at the ruins

(1 edit) (+1)

Okay, thanks, will fix that for update 2.

(+1)

thanks its fixed but now instead of giving 240 for health its either 3 or 4

(+1)

Great work! :) - oh perhaps someone can help me. (SPOILER ALERT) ... I'm stuck finding "herbs" - can only find catmint (bright green leaves). What should I look for?

Look for other plants that are bright green... Try towards the bottom of the map with the Baxter's house...

(+1)

I see :) - thanks!!

Sarah, can't you release a .d64 version, as for Zeta Wing? I bought it right now but I haven't a Kung Fu Flash cartridge so I can't play with my C64 :-(

I didn't see there isn't the d64 version before to buy :,-(

Given the 633KB cart, converting it to d64 is probably a large project.  For starters, you'd need to slice it up among like 6 disk sides, and depending upon how elements are used, you might need to make major changes to the game logic.    Even a d81 might be hard with inserting disk read logic everywhere and changing the memory use pattens.

In short all I'm saying is it's a lot of work.

Thank you for your answer. Ok, I understand. Must to buy a Kung Fu Flash Cartridge, then.

Or better yet, a 1541 Ultimate II Plus. MUUUUUUCH better,

I'm sorry, but a d64 version is not possible. I would recommend a Kung Fu Flash cartridge as that is what I use.

(+1)

Thank you Sarah for your answer. Yes, I already bought a Kung Fu Flash on eBay, it will took about a month to arrive here in Brazil, LOL.
(P.S. I love your Labyrinth avatar, wonderful movie :-)

Labyrinth is one of my favourite movies!

I'm old enough to have watched it in the cinema twice LOL

i can't find a place to do the fire - Sarah can  you give me a hint ?

ah thanks :)

Sarah, I can fix your U64 U1541U2+ saving issue with 4 bytes. Please DM me on Facebook mike.robertson.73932646

Having a progression issue.  Supposed to talk to Clarissa, per Smokey, but Clarissa just asks if she can help me.

This directly after I was confronted in front of Lynetts house by Bralen Whitehead after healing the Evil Spirit in the Deep Forest.

Running a C64C in NTSC and using a Kung Fu Flash. Save had been saved and played prior with 1.0, but downloaded and ran the 1.0.1 and loaded my save from disk, but no change.

So, restored from previous save. Before I'd gone up and to the left after the Braylen encounter, this time I got a different objective to go to the Deep Forest walking directly left of where I was in front of Chandler's Home.

(+1)(-1)

Can this be played off of a BackBit ?

I cant get it to do anything past the boot up screen.

Same here. Hangs on first dot in the progress bar. Had to resolve to Vice on my Pc...

(+1)

Awesome! I would love to play this on a real C64, so I guess I have to find out what I need to flash a cartridge. Never done that before. Buying an Easyflash 3 is enough, right?

(+2)

Yes, that would do it. I'm using a Kung Fu Flash cartridge on my real C64.

(+1)

Oohh that's available in 10 different colors! I think I have made up my mind. :-) Thanks Sarah!

(+1)

Man man man this is a great game. Bought it two days ago and already have six hours playtime on it. I am so very impressed with this game and it doesn't let me go. :-D

Stuck at the moment, trying to figure out how to get further ;-)

Can I help in any way?

(+1)

I'm sure you can, but that would include placing a spoiler here ;-) If I really can't get unstuck I might contact you. Thanks for the offer.

(1 edit) (+1)

I succeeded! Now at about 11hrs playtime ;-)

(+1)

found a bug when exiting the cavern after retrieving clarissa's ring ....a pop op message comes up in purple "hint" and game crashes. I will retry to see if i get the same issue

(2 edits)

Oops! Well, I'm sure I can fix that!

Update: Hmm... this is not reproducing on mine. Perhaps v1.0.1 has fixed the issue. I'll release v1.0.1 later today.

hmmmm if i use new version with vice i lost all progress....i retried v1.0 and this how it freezes. Is there any way i can reuse the save games in 1.01 and not start over ?

(3 edits)

If you could send me your crt file I could run it on mine and take a look.

Otherwise, if you mount a disk image in Vice with v1.0, you can save to disk. Then run the new version, and load the save from disk.

no worries. I created a blank disk, launched v1.0, loaded the cart, saved to disk, launched v1.0.1 and loaded the save ...i will try from there. Thanks for the help :)

(+1)

just retried - bug passed ! i can continue the quest :)

(+2)

What a great game!!! Normaly im not a Fan of this kind of RPG, but since the c64 realy needed such a game, i gave it a try and Boy it hit me. Graphics, Sound, Gameplay and Story are realy great. I already bought all of your Shoot em ups and loved them [ even the one you dont like youself ]. Are the Books avaible in German? Could not find them. Thanks for another great Game!

Sorry, the books are only available in English.

(+1)

Am in the game for a couple of hours now. Is it correct that the cauldron consumes water flasks in its completeness? So.. just not the water inside the flask, but the whole flask? I ran out of flasks, and now I cannot haul any more water from the river...

(+1)

It should turn water flasks into empty flasks, and then you can refill them at the river. Also, there should be an empty flask on the shelf inside the Baxter's home, so you should never run out of flasks.

Then there is a small glitch :) The spell with which you gaze in the cauldron consumes the whole flask, and does not give an empty flask back. Thanks for the hint on the empty flasks in Baxter's home though. That allows me to continue.
Really liking the game. Light hearted jrpg that is on par with the Enix classics - just with a better story :)

There are more flasks to be found down near the river too... inside a chest... Also... I'll check that glitch.

same here.. If I'm not mistaken I had 5 flasks at the beginning.. Now i'm down to 3 (after approx 7 hours of play time).. Haven't noticed when exactly they got consumed...

You can get more flasks by taking an empty one off the shelf in the Baxter's house; it's the white one, so grab that and refill it down at the river.

thanks..  I was on v1.00 till now but updated to v1.02 moment ago and carrying on with the game.. Love it..
I only wish manual was more printer friendly with white background and black text... So that I don't need gallon of ink to print it out.
